Minister of higher and secondary special education Abdukodir Toshkulov:

— We highly appreciate the fact that for several years we have been successfully cooperating with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in developing and supporting the system of higher and professional education in our country. Implementation of a new € 7 million project concerning the vocational education system in cooperation with the GIZ will enable us to further strengthen our field-related reforms.

The ministry hosted a meeting with the head of the GIZ office in Uzbekistan, Mr. Jörg Pudelka, and managers of a number of projects.

It was noted that due to cooperation, international projects worth € 17 million are being currently put into practice. Moreover, new areas of cooperation will be identified to ensure the follow-up of the signed agreements.

The next 5 phases of the € 10 million project have been launched recently.

Following the meeting, the parties have signed an agreement on the implementation of a bilateral Technical Cooperation Project.
